Stillmeadow Farm was established by the Brewster family nearly 50 years ago with the clear vision of preserving land and producing the finest animals using traditional and all-natural farming techniques. This world-class venue is situated on 300 acres of pasture and woodlands in Stonington, CT.
Prior to entering the alpaca industry Pamela Brewster and her husband were premier breeders and trainers of warm-blooded show horses and thoroughbred racehorses. For 30 years Stillmeadow Farm produced champions; sending horses to the Olympics and the most prestigious races in the world. Stillmeadow’s goal has always been to produce the best possible stock while keeping the animals well being a top priority.
Entering the alpaca industry in 2011, Stillmeadow Farm continues to uphold the same high expectations they brought to the premier world of horses.
Pamela and the wonderful staff at Stillmeadow Farm care deeply for the animals and the lands that make up Stillmeadow. The Farm’s goal is to produce the finest alpaca stock. Quality, not quantity, is most important.
Stillmeadow believes in the preservation of open farming and the importance of family farms, Pamela and her staff are deeply involved with the Connecticut Farmland Trust, a subsidiary of the American Farmland Trust.
In early 2011, we were introduced to the alpacas industry by Melissa and Lou Ferrera from New England Alpacas Farm. Since then we were fortunate to meet Ursula and Ryan Munro of Tripping Gnome Farm. Unfortunately, for the industry, they decided to take a step back from it so they could spend more time with their family. When they decided to sell some of their wonderful herd, we were lucky to be among the buyers. Stillmeadow Farm is dedicated to continue the pursuit of the great work Tripping Gnome Farm achieved over the years.
